"Fuck You Brock Lesnar!" I Scream Through A River Of Tears
Brock's haters are in a class of their own. They seem to find ways to discredit Brock at any cost no matter how convoluted or nonsensical. My favorite part is how every single fighter that fights Brock is going to destroy him and they all pile onto that bandwagon. Then, when Brock beats that fighter, they all discredit the fighter who's nuts they so recently staple gunned themselves to in an attempt to show that Brock's win doesn't mean shit. Let's do the list shall we!
Heath Herring:
Pre Fight - Heath has too much experience. Heath is too well rounded. He will pick Brock apart standing.
Post Fight - Heath Herring is a journeyman nobody who cannot win a big fight.
Randy Couture:
Pre Fight - Randy Couture has too much experience. Randy has better cardio far superior gameplanning. His greco-roman wrestling and dirty boxing is way too much or Brock to handle.
Post fight - Randy is too fucking old. He should be fighting at 205. He didn't fight for a year. Brock didn't deserve a title shot
Frank Mir:
Pre- Fight - Frank already submitted Brock once. Frank is too intelligent of a fighter. Frank's bigger and will not be bullied.
Post Fight - Frank's too small. Lay and Pray. The fight should have been stood up in round 2. Flipping off the fans is just lame.
Shane Carwin:
Pre Fight - Shane is huge and he hits like a Mack truck. Shane is just as good,if not a better wrestler than Lesnar.
Post Fight - The fight should have been stopped. Brock only got one TD. If Shane hadn't gassed, he would have won.
The UFC is the pinnacle of mixed martial arts competition. The premiere league. Yet according to the haters, Brock Lesnar has managed to become the heavyweight champion with no skills. He has no business winning any fight he is in yet somehow he will be looking for his 3rd successful title defense. This is truly an amazing feat.
Brock Lesnar haters are endlessly hilarious. I really feel bad for Cain though. He is just the current person everybody has hitched their wagon to and nothing more. Junior Dos Santos is next. I wonder what the excuses will be if Cain loses. We all know why is DEFINITELY going to win. He is faster, a great wrestler and has superior stand up and cardio. Maybe he will lose because Brock is a superior wrestler. Maybe he will lose because he has little punching power and allowed Brock to hang around and drop a big bomb.
These are all possibilities but if history has taught me anything, it is this:
If Brock Lesnar wins it will be because Cain Velasquez sucks.

Hey, you got your Steroids in my MMA!
The issue has been raised about steroids and their perception among the American public, and me being the thunder stealer I am have decided to add my own commentary on the matter. Now I may not be some fancy medical doctor or have any significant knowledge in the matter, but if being uninformed about a topic stopped me from still arguing over it to the death regardless then dammit I wouldn’t be an American now would I?
Steroids are bad, steroid users are bad people, anybody that even supports steroids should be burned at the stake (okay maybe not that extreme, but they should at the least be forced to watch their girlfriend have a 3-way with Shane Carwin’s fists). Does this sound harsh to you? Well it should! Life is harsh, and sometimes the shit is gonna hit the fan while your mouth is open. As a black man in America I know full well about the many injustices that go on in life (I listen to U2) but one injustice I absolutely will not accept is steroids being involved in my clean and pure enjoyement of MMA. Let’s look at a few quick facts about steroids:
1. Steroids shrink your package, let me repeat THEY SHRINK YOUR PACKAGE. Who the hell needs to be that good at running around bases that they’re willing to catch Small Ball Syndrome? Do you want your testicles starring in Without a Trace? Do you want to have to post pictures of your balls on the back of milk cartons? Do you want it to feel like you’ve got an empty hacky sack between your legs? No, then do it the way God intended.
2. It gives you bacne. Unless you want it to look like you've been washing your back with bacon grease then I suggest you do it the way God intended.
3. You wouldn’t be able to take credit for any of your achievements. Every good thing you do you know was done through the assistance of drugs, and you probably wouldn’t have been able to do it otherwise. All musicians that can actually play an instrument take drugs, coincidence? You do it the way God intended and suck like everybody else!
Look at the company you’d be keeping (allegedly keeping, ALLEGEDLY). A-Rod, Barry Bonds, Arnold Swarchenigger (not quit sure that’s how you spell that), every professional wrestler, Steve Buscemi all a bunch of (alleged) roid abusers that have to cry themselves to sleep on the backsides of beautiful women while they wipe their tears away with their millions of dollars knowing they got to where they were by being a bunch of shrunken testicled cheats (allegedly). And then there was Josh Barnett (nothing alleged about this nigga), a guy that doesn’t even bother to take the needle out of his ass anymore. He pisses so hot at this point it melts through the cup, then when it hits the ground it burns through the floor like the blood from those Aliens in that movie about Aliens (I think it was called Black Crustaceans from Outer-space). He’s taken so many performance enhancers that the only thing still able to get enhanced is his ego, and at the end of the day he still looks like he's built like a plumber.
Chael Sonnen should’ve known better. The guy is obviously smart, after all he did go to a white people’s school, but even his strong Republican will was no match for that shifty minority hanging out at the back of the gym with a full pharmacy hidden under his coat (or perhaps when he had that meeting with Roddy Piper about pro wrestling he got a little too much advice), and now sadly his humiliating loss will be for him tainted forever. Take it as a lesson kids, drug addicts always lose in the end; they lose their will, they lose their teeth, and they lose their mouth virginity when they try to get more drugs without having any money on them.
Doing drugs makes you a loser. Who on drugs has ever accomplished anything great I ask you? Musicians, filmmakers, professional athletes? Exactly! All a bunch of drugged up losers that didn’t do a damn thing that mattered in their lives. If Alexander Graham Bell was some dirty hippie from Southern Cali who instead of wearing his confidence on his sleeve and spending his time designing his miraculous inventions spent his time wearing worn out Che t-shirts and designing bongs out of old pizza boxes laying around his house niggas would still be yelling out the window to talk to each other from home. If nature intended you to suck then you suck, and you should be proud to suck since at least it’s natural for you. Why, you should set out to be the best damn sucker of all time, to suck stronger and faster then anyone ever perceived humanly possible before, you should try to suck as hard and often as possible (just remember to watch the teeth). Don’t be mad at genetic specimens like myself and Brock Lesnar just because we were born this way and can’t help it, but congratulate us (maybe offer to put those new found sucking abilities to good use). Ultimately at the end of the day, the most important thing you can do in this life is learn to accept yourself...(you ready for some knowledge)...for the sake of your self (BOOM, blew your shit wide open didn't it). Peace out.
(Obviously I’m not being sincere in this, I don’t listen to U2 at all)
Music that doesn't suck: Chrometrails

I've been on a serious Electronic and Hip-Hop instrumental kick for the past few months, and have come a cross a few really great Artists/Albums. Today I'd like to shine some light on "Chrometrails" by Vanilla (Hugo Harrison), who hails from Oxford, Southeast England (Yea, they have Hip-Hop in England). I've been bumping this for about a month now, it it still hasn't gotten old (Beta Blocker and Second Guess/Low Density stay on repeat). Here's the producers description of the album:
Chrometrails is the culmination of months of hard work, taking the final form of a 13 track instrumental hip hop album entirely created and produced by Hugo Harrison (a.k.a. Vanilla). Drawing from influential alternative hip hop producers such as Madlib, J Dilla, Flying Lotus and Prefuse 73, infused with his own particular brand of production, Chrometrails is a showcase for a range of conceptual and compositional ideas and production techniques. And hopefully it will have your head nodding.
I'd highly suggest you give this album a listen or two. It can be downloaded here (legally) for free. And if you're interested in checking out his other stuff, he's on MySpace, Soundcloud, and Tumblr.

8 fighters to avoid as an MMA prospect
1. Masakazu Imanari
The” Ashikan Judan” or “10th Dan/Master of Leglocks” was put on this planet to separate limbs from bodies. He looks like a villain from an old school Kung-Fu flick. Like he could block your punch and remove your femur in one swift move. 13 of his 20 wins are submissions and 8 of those submissions are leglocks.
Why should you avoid him? Because he can and will break your shit if he latches onto one of your limbs. (see Gurgel, Jorge and Brown, Mike Thomas).
2. Chris Lytle
He’s been a middle of the pack Welterweight in the UFC since ’03. He’s far from a world beater, but he’s highly skilled on the feet and on the ground. He’s got more “of the night” awards than anyone in the UFC, and has only been beaten by elite level fighters.
Why should you avoid him? Because you can’t KO him and you probably can’t out grapple him. And if you do try to grapple with him, you’ll end up looking foolish. (see Foster, Brian and Brown, Matt)
3. Nik Lentz
If the sin of sloth had a human form that competed in MMA, it would be Nik Lentz. Many don’t like his style (myself included) but it’s ridiculously effective. It’s not the most exciting thing to watch but I’ve yet to see someone else stall a fight so effectively, save for maybe Antonio Mckee.
Why should you avoid him? He makes exciting strikers look helpless as he slowly nullifies their offensive weapons. And if you don’t have good takedown defense, you’ll probably end up like his last opponent. (see Winner, Andre)
4. Maximo Blanco
Most fighters have to learn how to fight, Maxi was already born with this knowledge. Striking that shouldn't work outside movies and aggression that can only be described as borderline hysteria is what you can expect when fighting Maximo Blanco.
Why should you avoid him? VIOLENCE (see Kim, Chang Hyun)
5.Chris Leben
We all know and love/hate him as the whipping boy from TUF season 1, having his head used as a PiƱata by Anderson Silva, and being willing to fight ANYONE at ANYTIME at ANY PLACE. He’s tested positive for steroids and probably will never be a champion, but he always shows up to brawl.
Why should you avoid him? He’s like a Christmas Fruitcake. Impossibly tough, can knock you out if he hits you, and no matter what happens he’s always there…year after year after year. Also, he’s got the innate ability to force technical fighters into all out brawls. (see Akiyama, Yoshihiro)
6. Dong Hyun Kim
The South Korean judoka made his UFC debut by lambasting Jason Tan with like 972 elbows. He’s an inexperienced grapplers nightmare. Watching him clown fighters on the ground is an arduous affair, but it’s beautiful to watch.
Why should you avoid him? He’s human Velcro. Don’t expect to strike against him at all, because you’ll be defending a never ending chain of Judo throws, sweeps, guard passes, and submission attempts. (see Sadollah, Amir)
7. Dan Miller
Wrestlers fear 2 things in MMA. Eating a well timed knee while shooting in for a double and getting caught in one of Dan Miller’s Guillotine Chokes. He locked Dave Phillips in the most insane Guillotine in MMA history. I mean, he literally turned a man into a human Question mark. What more needs to be said?
Why should you avoid him? His fights tend to be ugly wars and shooting in on him is an extremely high risk/low reward situation. (see Phillips, Dave and Salter, John)
8. Hiroyuki Takaya
The “Streetfight Bancho” is a brawler. Plain and simple. No fancy throws. No BJJ wizardry. Just crazy amounts of fists being thrown at your face. Is he an unbeatable phenom? Nope, but unrelenting pressure and a good deal of power in his hands is more than enough to end any fighters night quickly.
Why should you avoid him? It won’t matter how elusive or technical you are, the fight will end up being a brawl. And if you don’t have a sturdy chin, you’re getting KTFO’d. (see Beebe, Chase)
Why I stay up till 7am: K1 MAX World Grand Prix Final 16
In my last post, I commented about how the K1 Heavyweight Grand Prix Final 16 delivered after the disappointments that were DREAM16 and UFC 119. The card had fantastic knockouts and along with WEC 51, helped me forget about the atrocious previous weekend of MMA. As my cable company doesn’t have HDnet, I often have to resort to other means to view these cards. Last night, we were fortunate enough for FEG to stream the event in South Korea for free on their UStream page.
For these events I usually have a fridge stocked with Lonestar, Shiner Bock, and Four Loko (Watermellon) and a belly full of either BBQ or Al Pastor tacos. Due to the events running so late, snacks such as hotpockets or microwave burritos also allow me to keep drinking until 6am.
The night started out great with an absolute brawl between two local Korean fighters named Kim. The fight wasn’t part of the official card, it was meant to get whatever crowd present excited for the night. The most excited people in the arena though were Michael Schiavello and Mike Kogan. They were having fun with the fight, wanting to warm up before the card officially began. Kim ended up winning a hard fought fight.
The big story of the night was the Korean fighters beating up and defeating their Japanese opponents. The first fight whch saw young Korean fighter Tae Hwan Kim take on verteran Japanese fighter Fire Harada where the proverbial torch was passed when Kim finished the fight with leg kicks. It terrified me hearing shin on thigh over and over again. The 36 year old Harada had no answer for the sped and aggression of the Korean fighter, but showed great heart in his loss.
Fan favorite Kizaemon Saiga was next taking on another Korean fighter named Sung Hyung Lee. This fight was an absolute war but it became very obvious early on that the karate fighter from Japan was no match for the Korean upstart. There wasn’t a highlight reel KO but it was an absolute beating. Chi Bin Lim clinched team Korea’s third straight win of the night over Japanese Hideaki Kikkawa in a fairly one sided decision. Unfortunately, Team Korea was handed their first loss of the night when Pajonsuk Super Pro Samui completely dominated Woo Yong Choi. The one MMA bout of the night was fought under DREAM rule and saw Japanese Brazilian Andrews Nakahara take on Jun Hee Mun from Korea. Jun was much smaller than his opponent but was somehow able to survive the full 15 minutes to lose via decision. It was the most boring match on the card and definitely messed up the flow of the night.
We hit intermission and I cracked open my ninth beer of the night. The most difficult part of the night is when FEG breaks for 30 minutes. They do this for all cards and it’s definitely the point in the night where I tend to fade as there is nothing keeping my attention.
The K-1 MAX Grand Prix Final 16 fights started with perhaps the best fight of all time. Seriously, hyperbole aside, this was a great fight between Mike Zambidis who is built like a Abrams tank and Chahid Oulad El Hadj (say that 10x fast). The fight started and kept an impossible pace. Multiple times it felt like the Knock Out was imminent and a fighter would come back and fire off a combo. It ended up going an extended period and Mike Zambidis was announced as the winner. In one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, Mohammed Khamal put a three round hurting on Atrur Kyshenko who was unable to utilize his length on the much smaller fighter. Michal Glogowski was able to defeat a Thai fighter named Sagadpet who was one of the dirtiest fighters I’ve seen. “The Voice” commented ad nauseum about his tactics being in the gray area of legal and illegal. It went to a forth extended round and neither fighter really pushed the fight, with Glogowski stealing the round in the final 45 seconds.
The most disappointing fight was Giorgio Petrosyan vs. Vitaly Hurkou. Petrosyan is perhaps the greatest K1 fighter ever and it usually is a treat to watch him fight, but Hurkou wanted no part of the Italian fighter. The majority of the fight he spent clinched up and was eventually yellow carded for such action. Gago Drago was able to send Su Hwan Lee to dream land by KO. The Korean fighter landed awkwardly on his head on the way down. He was taken out on a stretcher.
The WEC show and HW show more than made up for the prior week’s disappointing MMA events. The MAX event was just the cherry on top. If you missed it I suggest tuning into HDnet next week as they will be replaying it. You won’t be disappointed. As always I am a degenerate who ended up getting way too drunk and way too high to function on Sunday.
